Peter Nigel Stuckey Clark, affectionately known as PNSC, was a distinguished actuary working in the UK and across the world. He was a past-President of the Institute of Actuaries, and President-Elect of the International Actuarial Association. He died suddenly in June 2006, from DVT. Peter fell in love with Africa on his first visit, and travelled to various parts of the continent as often as he could. He passionately believed that all nations, especially in Africa, should be able to train an indigenous workforce of actuaries. This was to be one of the central themes of his Presidency of the International Association. While visiting Africa, Peter was touched by the plight of so many children growing up on the streets of Nairobi and Cape Town. Peter, together with his wife Lynda, supported various projects and individuals working in this area to improve the survival, education and support of these children. The Peter Clark Memorial Fund has been established to continue the work that was close to his heart.
