Education in Africa is an expensive business for those being educated, although the
actual cost would not be considered high in the 'First' World. |
 |
Half of all the money donated to the Peter Clark Memorial Fund will be allocated
to the financial support of African Students studying to become qualified Actuaries
in Kenya and South Africa |
 |
The Peter Clark Memorial Fund is working with the
Actuarial Associations and Universities in Kenya and Nairobi to establish
the exact nature of support that will be offered, and how this will be
allocated. |
 |
One of the projects supported by the Fund has been to help finance two
students through the MSc course in actuarial science at the University of
Nairobi. Carole Adhiambo was one of these, seen here on her graduation day.
Another student assisted by the Fund was Richard Kitati Mumo. As the top
student in her class, Carole has been given a bursary by the Fund to attend
the Congress in Cape Town and to be an ambassador for young African actuarial
students. |
