Children are the rock on which our future will be built - Nelson Mandela

The Homestead Project - South Africa

The Homestead work 'to help Street Children reconstruct their shattered lives, and to provide prevention services in disadvantaged communities.'

From street work and intake shelters, through more settled residential and educational care, to family reconstruction services, The Homestead get children off the streets and help them rebuild their lives and their futures. They have also developed projects that aim to prevent children at risk from coming onto the streets.

The Peter Clark Memorial Fund is working with The Homestead to help finance a material project to improve one of the centres for street children in Cape Town. The new admin room and recreation rooms are almost complete.

Jipe Moyo Project - Kenya

The Jipe Moyo project works with street children in Nairobi. The group was founded in 1997 to be of service to families in the community affected by HIV / AIDS with the specific intent of maintaining orphans and at-risk children in a family environment.

The memorial fund has purchased a minibus to reach out to children in the shanty town areas, enabling them to travel to recreational activities.

The Peter Clark Memorial Fund is working with Jipe Moyo to help finance a material project to improve one of the centres for street children in Nairobi.

Typical costs to help keep the centres running: 90 kg beans - £32, 90 kg rice - £38, 90 kg maize - £14.50.
